About the Village Library

The Village Library of Wrightstown began in a one room schoolhouse and is now a thriving community library. It is a place to meet and interact with others or to sit quietly and read. We are a small library with limited space but have access to all materials throughout the Bucks County Library System. You can place a hold on an item and have it sent to the library in Wrightstown for pickup at your convenience. In addition, we have public computers for Internet access as well as wireless Internet. So bring your laptop, a cup of coffee and work in our comfortable library ... Although we may be a small library, we are able to provide full services and programs for all members of our community through committed staff, dedicated volunteers, and community partnerships. On any given day, story times, exercise groups, scouts, 4-H, sports groups, and others are offered to the community. Our programming starts with the youngest ages and never ceases. There are programs at the library for children beginning with 8 month old toddlers through the high school years. Our programs and services are designed to ensure that our very young readers will enter school ready to learn. Older children have materials and programs that stimulate their imaginations, provide pleasurable reading, satisfy their curiosity and help them to succeed in school. We have expanded offerings to include tween and teen activities through movies, gaming nights, teen/tween nights, and targeted programming. With resources for patrons of all ages, anyone can explore topics of personal interest and continue to learn throughout their lives. The community has flocked to the free "Movies by Moonlight" double features in our Community Room which boasts a 16 x 20 foot screen.

On a typical movie night the scent of fresh machine-popped popcorn fills the air as attendees enjoy our movies. We offer all kinds of movies for every audience and age group. One fundraiser for our library is our very popular Used Book Sale (held in May and Nov.) These sales have been run by volunteers for decades, and remain a fabulous fundraising event for the library. If there is an interest, the library welcomes volunteers to help our library, our programs, and our fundraisers. The library has also expanded its offerings to include summer science programs, teen volunteering, and often tries new innovative programs like "Bubblepalooza", Family Olympics, Family Gras, and more. The library is constantly looking for new ideas and we are always looking to add more musical, theatrical, artistic, and interactive events. The Village Library's goal is to be a full service library offering many various services to all of our patrons. If you don't already receive it, you may want to sign up for our monthly online newsletter and/or follow us on Facebook to stay up to date with all the exciting opportunities in store for you at the library. As you can see, there is a lot going on at our Village Library. We hope that we see you in our library and at our programs. We also welcome your feedback and participation so we can remain a Village Library for the entire community. Please contact the library for information on any of our programs.
